Rodney developed a passion for the arts early on through his childhood church home in the heart of Englewood. He has professionally trained and directed in hip-hop and Latin-based companies in Chicago, San Francisco, and New York. Rodney has also taken a significant interest in studying and training in dance around the world. Through his cultural exchanges with artists around the globe his passion to provide a holistic dance experience was ignited.

Jessica Newman
Founding memmber (2017 - 2020)
Jessica was born and raised on the southside of Chicago. Through movement she found her outlet, space of healing, and self-evolution. It was through Liturgical dance that she developed the connection of dance and faith. Jessica’s passion was birthed in a Baptist church but aspires to make larger meaning through dance to unite different faiths through movement and the larger understanding of human connectivity.
Maria Torres
founding member (2017-2019)
Maria’s love for Latin Dance stems from her Puerto Rican roots and connection to Latinx culture. Her passion for dance and psychology led her to pursuing her Masters Degree in Dance/Movement Therapy and Counseling at Columbia College Chicago. This allowed her to gain a strong understanding of the importance of the mind-body connection. She uses this skill set and approach with her students, aiming to shape well-rounded dancers through the power of movement.
Kamaria Massey
founding member (2017-2020)
Kamaria was first introduced to dance as a child and her experiences have given her exposure to various genres including Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Hip Hop and Latin dancing. She has always sought an opportunity to utilize her passion and appreciation for dance in a way to support and benefit others. With her professional experience as a Project Manager and her passion for dance, she will excel in managing the behind the scenes and finances to keep MODOS on a path to growth in fulfilling its mission.
